I'm Katie, the founder of INKD Academy, a permanent makeup artist, educator and proud member of the Killer Beauty Pro Team.
My journey into permanent makeup began after a career in the NHS and ambulance service, where precision, safety and attention to detail were part of everyday life. Those values have stayed with me throughout my career as an artist and educator.
In 2026, I was awarded 3rd place in Pro Microblading at the Killer Beauty x Perma Blend National Championships, amongst other top 3 placings at National Beauty Awards & English Beauty Awards.
But while recognition within the industry means a lot, what matters most to me is the standard of education I provide.
I believe great training should be about more than learning a pattern, completing a course or receiving a certificate. It's about understanding your craft, developing sound judgement and building the confidence to work independently.
That's why INKD Academy focuses on small classes, individual attention and real clinical experience.
My goal isn't simply to train more artists. It's to train capable ones.

MEET YOUR SUPPORT TEAM
At INKD, you’re never training alone. Alongside Katie, you’ll also be supported by Lisa, our second educator, PMU & beauty specialist with over 6 years’ experience.
Lisa attends practical days to ensure each student has 1:1 tuition at all times, she guides students during hands on work, helps refine technique, keeps your learning environment calm and confidence boosting, and brings the same warmth and high standards INKD is known for.
Together, we make sure you get the one to one attention, honest feedback and real mentorship most artists never receive.
WHAT YOUR TRAINING JOURNEY LOOKS LIKE
Your course begins with extensive online learning on our training platform.
You’ll get immediate access to:
Microblading stroke patterns
Machine theory & technical control
Colour theory & pigment science
Health & safety
Consultation, contraindications & complications
Brow mapping essentials
Skin structure & depth
You’ll also receive access to our accredited Blood-Borne Pathogens & Infection Control course, which is a separate qualification included for all students.
This means you arrive at training confident, informed and ready to learn hands-on — not overwhelmed or unprepared.
Before your face to face training - online training
Day 1 - Recap, Technique Introduction & Mat Work
We start by recapping your online theory so everything clicks into place. You’ll then be introduced to your chosen technique(s) in a calm, structured way.
You’ll spend most of Day 1 practising movements, patterns and shading on mats and latex with close tutor support. This day is all about building confidence and understanding the “feel” of the technique before touching a model.
Day 2 – Tutor Demo, Assisted Model Work & Baby Steps
We begin with a full tutor demonstration, showing you the treatment from start to finish with real explanations, not just a silent watch through.
You’ll then move on to your first model, working alongside your tutor. We guide every step, and you’ll gradually take over as soon as it’s safe and appropriate — zero pressure, just structured baby steps.
This is where everything starts to make sense.
Day 3 – Two Models With Heavy Tutor Support
You’ll work on two live models with your tutor guiding you throughout the entire process.
We correct your depth, stretch, symmetry, pigment choices and technique as you work, so you learn proper habits from day one, not shortcuts.
Students always leave Day 3 feeling proud, supported and excited.
After Training – Case Studies & Competency Support
We require a minimum of 3 case studies, submitted for detailed tutor feedback. This ensures you're building real skill, not just collecting a certificate.
And unlike other academies we do NOT pass students on the day.
We know that building confidence takes time, and nobody becomes an expert overnight.
At INKD Academy, our focus isn't simply on completing a course. It's on helping you develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to work safely and independently.
Here's what you can expect after your training:
Structured case study support – Submit your work for assessment and receive constructive, personalised feedback to help refine your technique.
Continued guidance – Access post-training support for questions, troubleshooting and advice as you begin putting your skills into practice.
Competency-based certification – We assess your practical ability and understanding, not simply your attendance. Certificates are awarded once the required standards have been demonstrated.
Additional mentoring when needed – If you feel you would benefit from more hands-on experience, additional practical mentoring sessions can be arranged separately.

At INKD Academy, we keep our training intakes small, with a maximum of two students to ensure personalised tuition and dedicated 1:1 supervision during live model treatments.
A £500 booking deposit is required to secure your training dates, with the remaining course balance payable 14 days before your training begins.
Once your dates are agreed, you'll receive your course information, booking confirmation and student training agreement.
